Where to see pretty Christmas lights..

So amongst the many Christmas traditions in the South - one of them is looking at pretty Christmas lights.. And there’s a couple of places to see them at. Here are some of the most popular places:
1. Callaway Gardens - Fantasy In Lights:

The park has decorated itself with more than eight million lights on 731 miles of strings–enough to illuminate 26,666 six-foot-tall Christmas tree!
Warning: Callaway Gardens is WAY outside of the perimeter. But people drive there from Atlanta all the time for this, or golfing, or the butterfly captivity room.
You get the option of driving through the decorated areas in the comfort of your own car OR taking a trolley ride. If you take the trolley, dress warm and bring some blankets. Lots of hot chocolate is for sale when you get there.
Dates: November 14 - December 30, 2008
Time: Viewing of Fantasy In Lights begins at 6:00 p.m.
General admission prices:
$16 plus tax ($17.12 with tax) adults (13 and older)
$8 plus tax ($8.56 with tax) children (ages 6-12)
*You can get a specific time slot for a little more money*
2. Stone Mountain Park -

The park has TONS of Christmas activities going on this year such as the following:
The Polar Express 4-D Experience - Enjoy this classic film as a 4-D experience.
Two Fabulous Live Shows - A Hometown Holiday and Kickin’ Up Christmas
Christmas Lasershow
Crossroads Christmas Parade
Over TWO MILLION LIGHTS adorn the buildings of Crossroads
Sing-A-Long Christmas train
A Crossroads Christmas Carol
Holiday Shopping and Dining
Historic Christmas at the Plantation
3. Life University - Lights of Life -

The Lights of LIFE event operates November 24 until December 31, 2008. The hours are Sunday through Thursday 6-10 p.m., and Friday & Saturday 6-11 p.m. The cost of admission is $5 per car, $10 per van and $20 per bus. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
4. Local neighborhoods - An oldy but a goodie AND maybe the best option in this economic down time. Just tune on B98.5fm for your constant Christmas music.. get some Christmas snacks for the kids.. and go hit the neighborhoods..
