Virginia-Highland Summerfest … THIS WEEKEND!
![]()
How about starting off your Summer with a big neighborhood festival — The annual yuppy Virginia-Highland fest is this weekend. It’s pretty much your traditional neighborhood festival - art booths, food, bands, and a nice 5K race on Saturday morning.. For more details…keep on reading…
Summerfest takes place on the main hub area - Virginia Avenue. And here’s the best part - it’s FREE.
To celebrate the festival’s 25th year of going strong, they’re having a parade…Why didn’t I think of that for my 25th birthday?
The parade is on Sat at 9:30am and expects to run for about an hour.
The 5K run is also Sat. morning but kicks off at 8am.
Here’s a line-up of the bands serenading the festival — I hear alot of buzz for Shawn Mullins and Sonia Leigh:
SATURDAY, JUNE 7
10:30am - 11:00am DJ Jobe
11:00 am- 11:30 am Searcharoo 1 (Dave TBD)
11:50 am- 12:20 pm Searcharoo 2 (Dave TBD)
12:40 pm- 1:20 pm The Beggars’ Guild
