Spotlight: East Atlanta Village

The East Atlanta Village is located about a mile directly south of Little 5 Points on Moreland Avenue, or about 3 miles east of downtown on I-20.

This once was very rowdy (slightly scary) part of town has turned into a hip, eccentric neighborhood. Its main strip has restaurants, boutiques, bars, furniture stores, coffee shops, beauty salons, and more…

Here are some of my personal, not to missed stops in East Atlanta:

The Earl: This restaurant/bar/music venue has it all. Good food – I love that boiled peanuts are on the menu, and they have great burgers. A lot of bands perform here, so check out their website and check out The Earl.

My Sister’s Room: This one is for the ladies who like the ladies. I have never been here but alot of my friends go and love it. So on their recommendation, I say check it out.

I-Too Eyebrow Threading Salon: Instead of getting your eyebrows waxed, try getting them threaded. This is an Indian style of shaping your eyebrows where they literally pull the hair by thread. Indian women work as the stylists and I have been happy with the results every time I go there. Cost is $7 - check out their website for specials. Salon also offers body waxing, henna tattoos, and make-up application. There can be long waits for the eyebrow threading, so I suggest making an appointment.

Pieces of Adrene: This women’s clothing boutique has the hottest styles. I always wonder over here after getting my eyebrows threaded at I-Too and can’t seem to leave without buying a new outfit. The thing that is awesome about shopping here is you’re going to get a unique outfit that you didn’t get at a chain store. It’s a good mid-level price too. I’m excitd just writing about this store.

Graveyard Tavern: This restaurant/bar serves Shiltz! Do I need to say more..okay, it’s a huge place. It’s got tasty food and can accomodate groups well. Plus they have cozy corners with couches that you can just chill at with your beer.
