How many performance of A Christmas Carol are going on in Atlanta?
![]()
The consectuive years of Atlanta theater’s performing A Christmas Carol seems as old to me as Dicken’s story itself. But just like the Phantom of the Opera at the Fox, people keep buying tickets for these shows and it keeps coming back. So just to show you how popular this show is in Atlanta. I have compiled a list to answer the question -
How many performances of A Christmas Carol are going on in Atlanta:
1. Alliance Theater – For the past consecutive 18 years, Alliance Theater has performed A Christmas Carol. This is probably the biggest budget version of the show going on it Atlanta – and will have lots of special effects, with fog machines, and ghost popping up or flying around. Performances through December 24. Tickets prices $30-$40.
2. Shakespeare Tavern – Performances through December 23 but get this all the shows are SOLD OUT. There is actually a waiting list to see this show. I haven’t heard anything about it, but with tickets sales, it must be pretty good or people just want to see something different from the Alliance’s version. The venue of Shakespeare Tavern is a great one – if you’ve never seen a show here, you are missing out.
3. Towne Lake Art Center, Woodstock, GA – This is a community theater. A nice option if you don’t want to drive into the city and pay half the price. Performances through December 24. Ticket prices $12-$15.
4. The Rosewater Theater, Cummin, GA – Again, this is community Theater. I think local actor Barefoot Bill is playing Scrooge. I know him – he’s cool – go check out this show if you can. Performances through December 15. Ticket price $15.
5. Kudzu Theater, Roswell, GA – Community theater. Performances through December 24. Ticket prices $12-$18.
6. ART Station, Stone Mountain, GA – Now here’s something a little different. This performance is called “A Broadway Christmas Carol.” They take the Dicken’s story of A Christmas Carol and play it out through popular Broadway songs. Now that sounds worth checking out. Performances through December 23. Ticket prices $20-$26.
Besides counting performances, here are some other holiday time filling ideas to do on the web.
