Free sushi on Tuesday at Thrive

lefttop_logo_new.gifsushi.jpgEvery Tuesday at Thrive in downtown Atlanta hosts the event Sushi Rock Tuesday. I will provide the information from the flyer for this event but since I had attended the event, I’ll give you some unedited, nothing more than my personal insight as well…

Free sushi is offered from 9-10pm. Okay, first off lets extend that time period…How about 7-10pm..come on..Also, last time I was there I am pretty sure there was a longer time period sushi was offered. This makes me think this event is on a budget. Join the club. Last time I was there the sushi area which was one small table was like vultures over fresh road kill when the sushi was brought out. You had to sit by the table and be one of the first people when the food came out. Not fun.

Drink specials include $4 vodka redbulls and $4 martinis I remember ordering a drink that was on the drink special list and being charged full price. Since I was dressed up and in a posh restaurant, I didn’t feel like brining up my discount since it didn’t fit in with the superficial, BMW vibe of the restaurant..seemed like a buzz killer.

Free Valet Parking This is true..but c’mon everyone knows you have to tip. Why not say no tips allowed…

Overall Consensus: So I realize my comments make me seem like the most frugal person on the planet, but really I am just annoyed at a business trying to get customers in on a slow Tuesday by seeming like they’re offering this great deal. Really - it wasn’t that great. I suggest getting more generous with the sushi and advise the bartenders of the specials.
