Atlanta will pay you for going to work the smart way!

carpool.gifbike_to_work_main.jpgIf you’re one of the thousands of Atlanta workers, commuting to work alone in your car – Listen up! The Clean Air Campaign is going to pay you to use an alternate way of getting to work. You could join a carpool, take MARTA, or walk/bike to work if possible.

If you’re already using an alternative commute method, you will not qualify for this opportunity.

I did this program with my coworker and is was easy and effective.

Here are the steps:

1. Fill out the application (You’re going to have to get your supervisor’s signature. The Clean Air will call your supervisor to verify your information. Also, all correspondence, such as your check at the end gets mailed to your work address. Don’t try to make up a company or use this if your unemployed…you’re just wasting your time.)

2. Once you are accepted into the program, you will be given a start day to log your commutes. During the week, you will log on to a website with your username and password and submit information on how you got to work and got home.

3. At the end of the 90 days of the program, you will print out all your logged commute information, get your supervisor’s signature on the logs, and mail it off to The Clean Air Campaign.

4. Next – you will your paycheck for $180!

I know the hardest part about this is finding someone to carpool with or giving into the idea of using MARTA. A benefit of this program is they are getting you to try a new method for a few months and hope that you will enjoy saving money on gas, boredom in traffic, and helping the air quality of Atlanta….and get paid to do all of it.
